Biography

Dan Churchwell the Associate Director for Program Outreach at the Acton Institute, an organization that designs seminars aimed at educating religious leaders of all denominations, business executives, entrepreneurs, university professors, and academic researchers in economics principles, and in the connection that can exist between virtue and economic thinking.

Prior to the Acton Institute, Dan served as Program Coordinator and Instructor for Leadership and Public Policy at the McGovern Center for Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) in South Dakota. Prior to DWU, Churchwell was an instructor and administrator for six years at the Spokane, WA campus of Moody Bible Institute. He taught courses in philosophy, apologetics, and education. He also directed the office of Field Education, working closely with student volunteers as they served both locally and internationally. Before coming to Moody, he taught for three years in the School of Global Commerce and Management at Whitworth University, teaching courses in business, social ethics, and non-profit management.

Dan also has extensive experience in a Fortune 100 logistics company, a commercial real estate investment firm, as well as serving as executive director of an international medical non-profit, and has served on non-profit boards for New Hope Church and Peak 7. 

Dan holds an M.A., Biblical Studies from Central Baptist Seminary, Plymouth, MN and a B.A., Counseling from Northland International University, Dunbar, WI as well as a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from St. Thomas University, St. Paul, MN.  His Graduate Study is from Biola University, CA with an emphasis in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics.
