Laura Contreras-Rowe was born in Dallas, Texas and raised in Laredo, Texas. She received a BS in Broadcast Design and Telecommunications with a minor in Art History from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa Oklahoma in 1991.
2010 has been a great year for Laura’s book tour. She has traveled around the country speaking to over 30,000 students and adults from the West coast to the East coast. She has spoken to ex-gang members, pregnant teens, students who have just gotten out of juvenile detention.
She has had the honor of speaking to mayors of different cities, school superintendents, school administrators, and teachers. Laura’s message of hope and inspiration to Latina’s and underprivileged students across the country has been well received.
Laura strongly believes there is a huge gap in today’s society for our minority youth of America. It is this belief that has given Laura the opportunity to speak to many children and young leaders in high school and college. Currently Laura is currently working on her new inspirational book called Aim High and Dream Big. Her books are projects to inspire, motivate, empower and bring a message of HOPE and inspiration to those who are in need.
